At Comfort Health, we offer advanced ultrasound-guided injections using corticosteroids and hyaluronic acid to target joints, tendons, and nerves; offering precise, effective relief from pain and inflammation.
Corticosteroid injections are commonly used to reduce inflammation and relieve pain in various musculoskeletal conditions. They can be particularly helpful for patients dealing with joint pain, tendonitis, bursitis, and other inflammatory conditions. By delivering the corticosteroid directly to the affected area, it provides faster relief compared to oral medications. It is sometimes called steroid or cortisone.
Hyaluronic acid injections are another great option, particularly for patients with osteoarthritis or joint issues, especially in areas like the knees, hips, and shoulders. Hyaluronic acid acts as a lubricant and shock absorber for the joints, helping to reduce friction and improve mobility. These injections can help provide longer-term relief by improving joint function and reducing pain, without the side effects commonly associated with steroids.
Corticosteroid injection ultrasound-guided – £250
Hyaluronic acid injection ultrasound-guided – £300
If you haven’t seen a Physiotherapist at Comfort Health before your appointment will begin with a full assessment of your injury. The Physiotherapist will then ultrasound scan your injury. Then if they feel an injection will benefit you they will proceed with the ultrasound guided injection. If however they don’t, the appointment will default to the price of a diagnostic ultrasound scan and they will advise the best treatment plan for you going forward.
PLEASE NOTE: We do not offer spinal injections.
What if I’m anxious about injections? You are welcome to bring someone with you if you are worried. Your practitioner will also explain everything to you, and you do not have to proceed with the injection if you do not wish to.
Can I drive after my injection? You will be asked to sit in reception for a short while after your injection to make sure you are feeling well before you leave. It is preferable not to drive afterwards, but on most occasions it is safe to do so.
What should I wear to an injection appointment? Any clothing that allows you to comfortably expose the area to be injected.
